Should Your Company Go Public?

Small to mid-market public companies in the United States have access to capital at significantly better terms than those available to privately-owned businesses.

Our job is to ensure your company successfully completes all financial and accounting processes with the SEC and FINRA in order to trade as a US public company.

Through October 2008, J Crane & Company worked with its clients to complete 6 self filings on Form S-1 and one Form 10 self filing.

" J Crane & Company assists clients in developing their business and increasing their stock trading volume, which may result in a higher market capitalization and allow for immediate and recurring access to capital necessary for business growth”
  - James Crane
Founder and President

There are a few general reasons a business will “go public”, whether it is the next Microsoft or an unknown company:
To obtain significant capital (cash or other assets) at terms which are generally better than those available to privately-owned businesses. The capital will be used to expand business operations.
To obtain significant capital in a timely manner through a stream-lined process which relies more on the underlying trading volume and market capitalization of the business’ stock.
To obtain liquidity (cash profits) or potential liquidity for the owners of a business who wish to sell their ownership to make a profit. An equivalent level of liquidity will generally not be possible to generate if the business remains private.
Increase valuation, public companies enjoy a higher valutaion than private companies.
Raise visibility and increase corporate reputation.
