ACCOUNTING & ASSURANCE
J. Crane & Company, P.C. offers a broad range of accounting and assurance services, which include the following:
Bookkeeping: We provide bookkeeping services for your company or refer you to other accountants in some circumstances, as the need arises.
Financial Statements: We become familiar with your business, and the accounting practices common to your industry. This allows us to provide financial information for your use in operating your business, applying for financing/credit or insurance policies, or perhaps in the event of the sale or merger of your business.
Compiled Financial Statements: This is the lowest level of financial statement assurance services. We draft compiled financial statements, but these are not prepared with any assurance as to the accuracy of the figures. That remains your responsibility.
Reviewed Financial Statements: This is next level of financial statement assurance services. We draft review-level financial statements, which are prepared with limited assurances that the figures are accurate. Review-level financial statements are generally acceptable for banks during the bank loan application process or for 501c(3) not-for-profit organizations filing their financial results of operations with the Massachusetts Attorney General's office or other state authority.
Audited Financial Statements: These financial statements provide the highest level of assurance that thefigures are accurate, with consideration given to a materiality factor to be determined during the audit process. Audited financial statements are often required for companies that have numerous investors or are being acquired by a public company.
Depending on your needs, we can perform accounting services, including the preparation of compiled financial statements, on a monthly, quarterly or annual basis, as requested by our clients.
